Manual Wheelchairs, Cushions and Seating Systems
There is no fee to therapists for the presentation, however because of the popularity of this CEU program we ask that there be a minimum of 10 (ten) or more attendees per presentation date.
This is a One Contact Hour presentation on selected manual wheelchairs, cushions and seating systems to identify and understand key wheelchair components, various types of wheelchairs and cushions and of utmost importance the appropriate selection and utilization to benefit patient mobility, support and pressure relief.
Objectives:
* Define specific components of manual wheelchairs
* Identify various types of manual wheelchairs
* Become familiar with on how the appropriate manual wheelchair is selected for the mobility needs of a patient
* Understand the measuring and fitting techniques used by an ATP (Assistive Technology Professional)
* Define cushion types and how they are selected for appropriate seating and pressure relief
* Identify specific seating systems (seats and backs) to provide optimal support and pressure relief
